Last call for the series of mini-watercolors that I have been painting almost continually since 2010. With their small size (4"x5" framed) and price ($10 each), demand was always high and I don't even know how many I painted; I just kept at it. Each one original and unique. They're perfect for so many kitchen windowsills, bathroom counters, bedside tables, knick-knack shelves. Many parents have bought them as first paintings for their children, many people have bought them them as "thinking of you" gifts for their friends. Great for Father's Day! There are 25 left and when the last one is sold, that's it!
All the shops in Aurora will be dressed up for Mother's Day weekend with special offering of all kinds. At Black Star Watercolor, we've got hearts and flowers painted by our artists! Art — the gift that never fades. And don't forget our Quilts for Empowerment reception this Sunday at 2 pm at the Aurora's White Rabbit Bakery (scroll down for original post with details).
I commissioned this lovely painting from Geri Graley, and have turned it into a nice 5x7 souvenir post card that you can send to friends and relatives far and wide who are not fortunate enough to be in Aurora! $4.75 each at the gallery.
The White Rabbit Bakery in Aurora will hold an art show May through June featuring works from the Quilts for Empowerment (QFE) program, which Black Star Watercolor supports. QFE founder Mary Ann McCammon is scheduled to speak at the bakery on Mother's Day Sunday May 13 at 2 pm. She will share stories from her recent trip to Kenya to teach quilting to obstetric fistula survivors being treated at the Gynocare Fistula Center in Eldoret, Kenya. White Rabbit Bakery is located at 21368 Pacific Highway in Aurora. For more information about the bakery, please visit their website. All sales and contributions are greatly appreciated.
